Created from 3 HDR images. First image was an HDR created from a single raw file from -1 to +1 exposure levels. This would be the portion I would use for the clouds in order to get rid of the motion blur typically seen with multiple exposure HDR shots involving clouds. The second HDR image was basically only used for the left side of the sky where the sunset is occurring. This one was made from 5 RAW files and processed using the highlights and shadows tool in Photomatix. The last HDR file was created using 5 RAW files and tone mapped in Photomatix for the bridge and city. Combined all 3 images as layers using the eraser to blend them together the way I wanted. Adjusted hue/saturation, curves, levels, shadows/highlights on all 3 layers individually. Merged all layers and then performed a few overall image adjustments such as hue/saturation, selective color, unsharp mask, neatimage, added border, resized, saved for web.
Post Challenge:
Not bad for my first Free Study attempt. Also my first image to break 6.0 and in expert editing Free Study at that. Thanks to all those who voted and commented. |

| Wonderful night shot. I wonder though, if you'd adjusted your POV a bit to eliminate more of the road. Hmmmm Great colors and the focus is terrific for a long exposure. Love the clouds and that pop of turquoise right over the bridge. It seems to have a slight tilt, but it might be an optikal illusion because the road is wider on the left than on the right. No points off for that. |
