 Violin, fire, long exposure.

I was wearing a black glove and using a lighter to draw the flames. The black glove did go on fire at one point, but that only increased the drama of the shoot :)

LOL, just keep a bucket of water handy. Don't show these to your insurance agent either...the use of fire rather than a light really gives these shots life of their own! Very nice.

It's fine really :)
I have some slightly odd hobbies that involve paraffin and creating fire balls - a small controlled flame just doesn't bother me that much, even if it's on my hand temporarily...

I do like this one better. The streakiness of the light (and its reflection on the violin) make the picture vibrant, conveying a sense of action not otherwise obvious.

Setting your hand on fire is probably a bad thing in the long run.

LOL!!! Hopefully you didn't burn a) you or b) the house down. I do like the reshoot - the flame is a very nice touch!
