 This is one of the shots I took of food for a magazine here in Warsaw. Brutal work. There were 8 dishes and it took me 8.5 hours to take the shots. Every shot had to have different lighting depending on how greasy the dish was, of the type of bowl it was in etc.

Composition was really hard. We didn't have a stylist to compose the food.

I never realized how "fake" the food is in magazines! THe pictures I took, the food was 100% natural. No glue,paint etc. Makes it that much harder.

For a first try i think it's decent. What do you guys think?


(nothing has been altered in these shots because my screen isn't calibrated, so left it up to the editors of the mag to do that)

The light here looks a little flat. Could use more warmth. I would suggest using back or side lighting with some bounce card reflecting down on the opposite side to remove/lessen the shadows.
