Yes, rule of birds! (Dialogue reminds me of the banana in your ear story). You've certainly captured their expressions.

Deb, this is a fantastic photo! This one would have made a great 'rule of thirds' entry with that bird. Great colors, processing and composition.

Great running commentary! I'd possibly try cropping out those small squares at the very top, so they don't compete visually with the bird.
