Taken in my office/studio.

Used to Studio flashes.
Top Right : Red filter, 1/2 Power
Bottom left : No filter, 1/2 Power, barndoors to keep light off of the background

Background : Black paper

Camera : Canon EOS 10D
Lens : 28-80mm L

Focal : 46mm

Picture is of a Hangman's noose that I made myself. Background is black because of the morbid nature of the object, red on the end to symbolize blood. Picture is dark to further go with the dark side of the photo itself.

My original idea was to put a piece of white string on a black background. I then thought that a rope would add more texture. Then... Why not add a knot to give it something more to look at, which developed into the Hangman's Noose.

Playing hangman? That rope's doesn't look thick enough for the real thing.

The red highlights on the rope gives this image a powerful and meaningful appearance. You are to be commended.

The image is incredible as is but centering the rope on the left 1/3rd of the frame to add extended black negative space to the right might add even more power to it.

Very intriguing and strong! That red light sends the message!
I might dislike the background (not meaning ...of the picture), but - bravo!

Interesting to use a black rope on black background. The red light is another interesting approach. Nice shot.

this is a scary shot. I like the message (I think) if you mean the psychology of why people commit suicide, convincing themselves it's the quickest & simplest way out. The mood set by the red light source is really good. Very thought provoking!

The dark rope does not work well with the dark background. That is actually a complex knot. Interesting red highlights.
