The shot was taken for a local pet shop using window light in the owner's home. The weimareiner puppy wouldn't stop moving, so at the time of exposure was chewing a green chew toy, and when I removed it, it looked like he was smiling! I painted it using photoshop and corel painter.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Oh,what a beautiful puppy.

You chose a perfect simple setting for this beauty and, of course, the expression on the Weimareiner is priceless. I think the technicals work well for you here and the colors are wonderful.

My only suggestion would be to crop this image way down. Just south of his front paws at the bottom and just away from his back paws to the right. This draws the viewer's attention right to the beautiful dog. I very much like the amount of space you have to the left and at the top of the image.

Your monochromatic color scheme is perfect for this portrait, and the doggy smile is perfect.

The editing is very smeared. It starts to look like a pastel on the dogs face and chest, but then the blurred areas in the foreground and smeared lines at the back look bad, sorry. Just trying to be honest.

Haha, cute dog.

I love the brown tones here and expression on the dog's face. I'm guessing you went for an oil painting look here, and you've achieved it.

Sorry, don't like the pp on this one. Makes the dog look very strange and unattractive. Should have added a bunch of cards in its paw, with maybe a cigarrette burning and a highball glass. That would have worked better with this style of image.

Great expression on his/her face! Without the texture in the fur it feels cartonish to me and less like a photo.

little too much cloaning or NI- something doesn't seem right- unless it was meant to look more like a painting.

Nice catch, I'd like to see it as a head crop to the rule of thirds, it might be quite surreal.
