Ok...way too much PP here to go into too much detail. :oP This is something I've been wanting to try for a while, and the Expert Editing Freestudy seemed the perfect opportunity.
This is made up of 5 different photographs. I started with 3 shots to make "Lakshmi". One for the body, two others for the extra arms. I then selected the skin (all except the lips and bindhi) and tinted it to the cyan-blue you now see. Dodged in the highlights to make them a little brighter, used healing brush to get rid of a shadow on the face from the hair. And then deleted the background.
Selecting all that was left, I pasted it onto a shot of the sky/cloud. I duplicated that background, deleted the sky, and overlayed the cloud, using the eraser at softenss about 13% to soften the edges and help her too look as though standing in the cloud.
Lastly, I selected a fairly large area around the sunburst from the 5th photo and arranged the layer so as to position it behind her head. Next, I used the eraser again to soften the edges of the sunburst so it blended somewhat with the background sky.
Flatten, resize, contrast, add border, save as jpg. I may have missed some in there, but that's about all I can think of right now. Not sure how it will be received, but I am happy with the outcome and had a blast with it! |

Greetings from the Critique club. First off let me tell you I'm not a fan of digital art, or overly photoshopped shots. Just being upfront.
That said I do like this composite to the point that I can enjoy it for what it is.(thats a good thing)
I like the simple yet creative way you have done a classic piece. The setup for the clothing and poses are nicely done. I'm not so sure I like the sunburst behind the head but that may be personal preference. I almost wish since you had decided to put the subject on the clouds that you had her sitting instead of standing. Perhaps sitting on the edge of the cloud feet hanging over kind of thing. The skin tone you changed to while normally I'd not like it, it adds to what you have created. Overall pretty well, I think it was voted a bit lower then I would have even not liking digital art/photo manipulation that much. I likely would have scored it a 6. |
