 My horse (again, sorry, but he inspires me) I tried to let him out with another horse (they are herd creatures) they ran around for a few minutes joyously but after a bit he could no longer contain himself and began to bully her. He's so bad. As the two of them made a final pass with her definitely having had enough I decided to rescue her from him.... but the photographer in me took over and I got this last shot as he went by before I chased him off and put her in her own corral, safe & sound.

Other history: He is an Arabian and they have, at times, been referred to as Drinkers of the Wind. I has, in part, to do with the arabians large nostrils and ability to run fast through the desert. There is an old book out by that name by Carl Raswan (if any of you have an old copy of it stashed away in your attic I'll buy it).

Converted in RAW and then converted to b/w using CS3. I burned the heck out of the background, enough that it probably would not pass an advanced editing legality test but didn't I mask it and paint it black that way It was just a good candidate for major burning as it was halfway there already. also a bit of dodging & burning in the mane. a very light guassian blur on a seperate layer to soften the hair a touch. Full frame, no cropping. USM and resize

Breathtaking shot. The contrast works so well with the black background. The shot of the subject is excellent, with the mane and beard ;) in the wind. There's some drool in too hehe. 10!!
