Post challenge comment:
Although this was a expert editing challenge, there was actually minimum editing done on this shot. The 50mm lens did all the blurring in the background, I never blur any of my shots in post process. And yes, it's a flower a beautiful black iris the national flower of the Kingdom of Jordan.

Not fond of the blurring of the background via post production editing. Unfortunately it looks quite obvious.
