 Taken on the same day as my Insects II entry. I had a really hard time deciding which one to enter, so I decided to put this one in the free study.

Taken with a reversed 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor lens. No electrical connection between camera and lens, therefore no aperture information was recorded. The aperture would be around f/5.6, give or take a stop.

Post Processing (advanced editing legal):
RAW conversion.
Noise reduction
Small spot edit to remove a small mark on flower.
Curves and levels.
Border, resize, smart sharpen and save for web.

Isn't it nice when you get a shot that, with minimal processing, can stand up to entries that took Expert Editing to the limits!

This is a beauty, and doesn't need much of a critique from me, except to reinforce the scoring. Had I voted on this challenge my vote would have been right up there as well.

Great macro shot, may be from the same shoot as the insect challenge, which was great, but its an incredible shot, love the colors and sharpness on your subject. Well done.
