Here is an A-10 used for Weapons Standardization. The basically means that the Airmen who load weapons on to planes come to this hangar or "Load Barn" as it is referred to and are evaluated on their weapons loading proficiencies.

The lighting in the barn is horrible, so a tripod was an obvious must. But I have recently acquired the Photomatix software and so I ahve been on a kick to play with it and do HDRs. I also have the PTGUI software that I haven't been able to play with enough, and am loving the new CS3 along with all of the plugins for that. Genunine Fractals is going to come in very handy!

So with this image I shot a bunch of shots. I started at -2ev and went up a third of a stop all the way to +2ev. When I put them al linto Photomatix I wasn't happy with the result. I then backed down and only used 5 shots to make this image. In hindsight I think the problem with the first image was the custom white balance I used. So I put this on auto and got this image.

I followed this up with a small levels adjustment layer, a smidgen of shadow/highlight adjustment to get the nose of the plane back in range (the sun was shining right on the nose and it was still a bit blown out) and then I resized and sharpened with Smart Sharpen.

Overall, I like the photo, but I wouldn't submit it for anything other than viewing, no challenges or anything. I think this is more a phot of the barn itself with a plane inside it, as opposed to the plane itself.

This is really well exposed! For this picture, I actually wouldn't change a thing. Great job!
