This frozen pond was thawing as the weather warmed up after a heavy storm. I was especially struck by the way the reflections varied from the still frozen sections to the open water. I added some saturation to the colors, but otherwise this is unchanged from the original.

I like this idea a lot and your execution does it justice. The colors are amazing.

You might want to bump up the saturation a little in this photo, the colors seem a little washed out.

I don't really like the middle line being so centered. Being on the 3rd line would have improved it I think.

Beautiful capture of the transition between fall and winter. The bank is so close too the center and the difference between top and bottom so great that the photo is almost split in two; a composition that should be avoided in general, but I do think it works here. Cropping off most of the ice at the bottom or (more appropriately for the challenge) most of the sky at the top would have created very different images--probably more dramatic ones. But not, I think, with as clear of a message about the subtle boundary between fall and winter. (Or maybe I\'m just thinking too much about the \"on the edge\" challenge!)

i like the mix of ice and water, it creates a more interesting shot. however, i would have tried to move the horizon more toward the top and incorporate more of the lake and less of the sky and trees.
