Went to help my brother do some wiring on his new house he is having built and found this poor little guy (or gal) on the window.
This is almost straight from the camera, just a little bit of dodge, curves, levels and usm.

i always appreciate any comments by i have to laugh that a few people complained about the window, like when i see an opportunity for what i think is an interesting shot i'm gonna say to myself "let me find some windex first" lol oh well

Few things sadder than a tiny, dead bird

Well the window is really dirty & that doesn't help the picture. I feel awful for that poor hummingbird..they are just so sweet & beautiful...

this would have been great if there was rain on the window - would have added to the mood a lot. but interesting choice of subject :)

I just wish instead of a dirty window it was rain drops...Still a great shot though

huh? don't get the title! };>) Ok, not an original comment - of course, I'd rather see birds that are living. But in this case, it's hard enough to get a good photo of one flying much less I don't think I've ever seen a dead hummingbird - nice find and you are a brave soul. I wonder what the other voters will think?

A very emotive capture! Not many stop to think about the death of a hummingbird. They are beautiful and fragile creatures that are universally loved. This shot shows the beauty gone. The darkness in the shot replaces everything that was once bright and full of life and color. The drops on the glass are as tears. Even the vertical strut is crooked giving the feeling that something is terribly wrong.
High marks from me on this one. I hope this one doesn̢۪t just get tossed into the middle of the pile because it isn̢۪t the typical portrait of a hummingbird. Good luck with this one.
