Southern Nevada is entering the fifth year of the worst drought in recorded history. After four years in a Drought Watch, come Jan. 1, 2004 we will be entering a Drought Alert. Water levels in Lake Mead have dropped almost seventy feet which is close to three trillion gallons of water.

Come Jan. 1, it will be illegal to use mister systems, wash your car in the driveway and other misc. restrictions.

The white lines on the rock is where the water level should be.

An overall great shot. The light colored hill/mountain in the back seems to draw my attention away from he water, but it's a minor concern.

You must be out here in the west! Hopefully it will rain soon. I like how the focus is right on the waterline. Had you considered boosting the saturation a little? This may add to the impact of the photo.

Great colors and midnight blue water. The clay and salt colors of the stone really create a stark feeling about the shot. There is a somewhat excessive amount of water in the foreground when the most interesting parts seem to disappear up out of the shot- but given the title it works fine.

Very good composition. The colors are varied and deeply satuarated. I like how your eyes are lead throught the channel. The depth of field is excellent.

Lake Mead no doubt. We go there every summer to boat and we are all praying for rain. Great color and clarity.
