lol your kids play soccer in the same kind of area as our kids do. our field is surrounded by a chain link fence and low income housing so I always have an interesting background. That 40-150 is working really good for you! Great action shot you captured here. |

Nice composition and colors! The white of the ball, his shorts and the bars in the back along with the red of his jersey give this shot a lot of power. The focus is right where it should be. |

You've frozen the action nicely. You're unlucky that his hand is obscuring his face slightly. |

Nice action shot. More cropping would have been better. |

I really like this shot. Great timing right before the strike with just enough motion blur to show the action. And the sharp depth of field framing right where the action is about to take place is perfect. |

try cropping out the blurry grass in the foreground and I think you'll see even greater appeal to this photo...all in all an excellent soccer action photo (one of the hardest team sports to photograph!) |

I like this picture even though it does not run with conventional guidelines.
I would of gave you a higher vote if his hand was not in front of his face. As it is, it diminished the emotional value a bit.
Usually, a tight crop is used in sports photography, however, I think personally, unless you are selling the image to a paper or magazine, other photogrpahy rules can be applied such as this image.
Great comp, nice use of thirds, great capture, excellent color, great light, excellent dof, excellent bg, great texture, overall a great image. |
