Excellent photo! How long did you have to wait for the cat to turn its head? :) +9

I don't care what anyone says, this is damn candid! Nicely done. I like the B/W and the overall composition, though I might like it if the toes and bottom of frame weren't cut off. 7, just-married

I'm sorry, I can't relate to this shot. I like the humor in it, but it looks more like someone just put the cat next to the photo and it was fascinated by it for a few seconds while someone took the photo.

Cute idea. Flash is a little too much for the photo and not really enough for the live cat. (Sorry, no suggestions) 7 Swash

I find the contrast a little to high, especially for such a soft subject. Neat picture though.

Great subject! I like how you can see the cat's face in the framed picture, but not on the cat itself.

It really would have been better if we could see part of the cat's face.

The only candid animal photo I see..........I think it would be more difficult to get a candid aminal photo than it has been to get candid people shots, and that was darn difficult!!! =5 syamjonimi ;'-D
The dark shadow behind the cats face makes it difficult to determine what is shadow and what is the facial line. Also the darks in the picture are too dark or too intense making my eye want to look into the dark areas rather than the subject and feeling of the photo. Guess what I am trying to say is - The lighting could be better, for me.

mood captured - a cat recognizing its likeness
sincerity of expressions - fabulous

Before the challenge I would have probably said that any pet photo wouldn't live up to the "candid" challenge, but I think this one does. Very cute shot -- I only wish we could see a little more of the cat's face.

does that cat usually sleep standing up? nice shot

interesting candid :) I think the flash has created some harsh light... - jmsetzler

Good composition, although it would of been good to see the _cats_ face. Still I love this, love the b&w. The focus is just too soft in this light. Nice job all the same.
Score 7 Justine.

This picture literally made me laugh out loud! It is very humorous and well composed. It also most definately meets the challenge as being candid. I think that going b&w on this was a good choice. My only critique is that you may want to play with the cropping on it a little. The extra white wall on the top and left wall leaves something for me. Great job!!!! 9 -KrazyKat
