My little girl was pretty sick today (she's 2), and she kept insisting on lying down with us (she never, ever does this), and then she would fall asleep. I caught this one moment, at ISO 1600, low light, with a bit of movement from them both, so some soft bits.

Processing:

I processed this in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (first time using it). It's kind of cool, but honestly I have no idea what I was doing or how I did it :( So, I cropped it, did some sharpening, toned it using split toning and then played with the sliders in the grayscale toning. Added the border in CS2.

I know it's not perfect, but it's a pretty good representation of our day.

It's been a couple of days now so I hope your daughter is feeling better. It is just awful when they are not feeling good. But you did catch a meaningful mother daughter moment. (Although if my husband was taking pics of me and my sick kids I might have growled at him.) Love the lighting on both of them.

Very sweet capture. The tones fit the mood - very gentle and soft. I like the angle you chose, so it's as if we, the viewers, are not intruding too much on this intimate scene. Very well done.

Awwwwww. . .they are so cuddly when they are sick! What a sweet photo! It is amazingly clean and sharp for 1600 ISO. I think you will cherish this for a long time!

Robert, I hope she's up and normal again tomorrow. I used to hate it when the norm was interrupted, because you know how sick they were if they were acting differently.
It is a beautiful shot. I hope you make sure it goes in her album. My babies are now 26 and 24 years old and I love to look back on these glimpses in time.

Sentiment wins over technicals any day. Looks perfect enough to me.
