I clearly remember this one - and that says alot since I've viewed several hundred thousand photographs by this point in time here! Really a gem. |

More DOF would have detracted. This is a beautiful image, of a kind that, unfortunately, does poorly at DCP (ie, subtle).
Congrats. |

I would like it better if it was turned 90CW. But then again, I have to work hard to get pleasure out of viewing this photo. It is very passive. |

I really like the shallow DoF. Really like the contrast of the wood and the shadows. would have liked to have seen the entire piece of wood OOF, it looks like fart of it is in focus and I do find it a bit distracting. |

glad you didn't run back for your tripod. The dof adds a ton of interest. so does your title.
like yanko said, I like how the flower itself is disoriented, floating, but the shadow is complete. |

It's like the flower has become free from it's stem and roots but the shadow reminds us that is not the case. Ignornace is bliss. |

pretty shot - the shadow against the light and the flower against the dark really give a wonderful sense of completion |

Really cool, I like how you caught the shadow. Very different picture but I like it & the thin frame works great. Good job. |

Nice title!! Unusual use of lighting, DOF and tones, though. Just my opinion. Interesting image for sure. |

I really like the simplicity of the back vs white, the flower looks a bit blown out and I wish the diagonal started in the corner - moving a bit to your l may have put the flower into the black and the diagonal coming from the corner, you may have been able to use a square crop then. nevertheless still a very nice shot

Lovely. There's almost a yin/yang thing going on here. My favorite so far... |

Good composition but the flower is blown too much. |

captivating!! Excellent composition. The shadow looks carved out of the wood giving this even more appeal. The detail in flower is incredible. 9 |
