Didn't want to do something that I though was cliché, so I did something stupid instead like burning a newspaper. I think this is a macro...the fucntion was on when I shot this.

The title is a play on words. Words need to go outside and play once in a while or they'll get fat and lazy.

Left the right side of the photo blank as to emphasize the missing portion of the article caused by the fire.

No real adjustments once again. Just a bit of darkening and increasing contrast with a little sharpening on the side.

A very good photo and a poignant -take- with an effectively apt title. I would have liked to see more of the subject in exchange for some of the more than ample white space, particularly to provide as many or as much of a point(s) of interest as possible, given the literal -stillness- of this shot.

Technically (colour, hue, focus, dof) the photo is examplary, IMO.

Great detail and texture. I hope they don't jump you under the Patriot Act for burning material that refers to our leaders. It's getting kind of hard to tell how much freedom of speech is still allowed since 9/11.

The stark white background is effective. Spot editing out the blurry protrusions (legal for this challenge) would have improved the image.

Did you try a slightly tighter crop (Too much white space on right for me)? Good focus. I like the colourisation. Looks a little noisy.
