Greetings from the Critique Club
by Inspzil
Composition - Interesting effect of the drops on the berries. However the real effect that its having on them is somewhat distorted by the angle. There isn't enough contrast to really be able to see that the water drops are refracting the berries a little, instead they look like little upside down red pears. I think for this compositon, if you cropped it, you cropped too much from the top. If not, then you need to move back just a bit and capture more of the berries. Their placement in the frame could be better.
Technical - The colors are a little dull but more importantly, this is not a very clear image. The focus is off a little more than slightly. That's always the kiss of death around here, unless soft focus is the challenge. You have a very capable camera, so the only thing that really could remedy that is using a tripod, or just taking a few more of them to make sure you get one that's crystal clear and tack sharp. The color of the berries could be definitely boosted and made brighter for better visual impact.
Overall - I'm not particularly fond of this photo. I would chalk it up as a learning experience and move on. Especially in a macro challenge, the clearest pictures place well. Photos that are spot on tack sharp do not do well. Best of luck in your future challenges - Bob |

The water is a nice touch, although the image refracted in the larger drop isn't all that interesting. |

Beautiful rendition. The water droplets add a lot; the hot spots detract a bit. |
