Nice capture. Extremely dramatic mood. A VP is an optical effect of parallel lines. The rays in this image originate from the same relative point(the sun). 6

I'm guessing the vanishing point in this picture is supposed to be the point where the sun will set... or the use of the lightrays converging on the sun... but it's too unclear.

I am assuming that your lines are from the rays of the sun. Unfortunatly that means that they are not parallel. Great capture on the rays though.

This is a good photo for the challenge, had the sun split the horizon would have scored higher...7

the use of light rays as your vanishing point is a nice concept - but the sky seems a little blotchy 5

Well spotted - an original and very apt take on the challenge. It is very difficult to get the exposure right when shooting directly in to the sun, but you have caught the rays and got the detail in the clouds which is the most important thing. With a little post-processing this could be improved - a slight levels adjustment to darken the clouds even more, and cloing out the spots in the sky caused by sensor dust.
