love this shot - lots of great sky to let the bird fly out into. |

Very nice shot, I liked it very much. The blue space balances the composition very well. |

good use of open space, but I would have cropped it in closer. |

Beautiful picture. I didn't think that I would like the idea of the sky taking up so much space, but it adds a lot to the photo. |

I don't know what to say except that the quality of other pictures this week don't compare... |

This photo is just incredibly beautiful. Somehow all that sky gives me the impression that this is an instant in time, and the bird, if it decides to, will escape into the air and fly away if you make any noise or sudden movements. I couldn't possibly not give it a 10 - lisae |

A really great wildlife shot, would get a 10 from me most weeks, but not really 'candid'. |

This looks very staged. Just joking :) Good candid. Nice image. See a bit of compression problems in the sky ? 8 Journey |

C'mon, this was staged! You paid the bird to pose, right? This is beautiful. I read a comment in the Forum from somebody expressing that a 10 is something they would like to frame. This is certainly framing quality. |

I like the positioning of the crane at the bottom, I wish it was looking into the frame instead of outside, though. Great colors. karmat |

love that cloud hovering just over the opening to the nest, while the bird is unawarely looking the other way mood captured - instincts sincerity of expressions - fabulous |

nice shot. I do wish the lighting had been more even, i guess that was due to a passing cloud, but the bird rocks. (8) ~mcmurma |

Beautiful shot. Maybe the bird is a little too bright? I like the low horizon line and the way the clouds balance the image in relation to it. |

Sorry, I like the picture a lot. Might have prefered the animal looking the other way but you probably did not have tha much choice. Very nice composition (except the 'orientation') and exposure. Sorry to me it does not meet the spirit of the challenge. -2 for that this week. Overall 6 (8 an other week). |

This is a great shot. I am so glad you caught it in the sunlight, it looks like shade from a cloud was approaching. At first, I didn't like all the negative space, but it grows on you. This might have been a touch better if all the thaching were in the sunlight, but it's still a 10 in my book! Congrats and hope you win! Swash |

Super shot!! I wish there wasn't quite as much blue at the top or a few more clouds there but the way the bird is at the bottom works well. Good luck in the challenge! |

Great shot, almost too much sky though. I can't decide... |

Love the framing of the clouds and the bird in sunlight. Very nicely done. I might have chosen (cause I like birds a lot) to make it a horizontal shot both to reduce the empty blue above and to make the bird bigger... but excelent wildlife candid. |

On one hand, I like this a lot. It's the kind of thing I could see hanging in my office. On the other hand, I don't know how well it meets the challenge, and I just can't decide whether I like quite *that* much sky in a photo (although I know it's for the sake of art). |

Fantastic shot, can’t fault the photography. I love the overall compositionâ€Â¦ But I do think the challenge element is a little weak. (8) |

Nicley done. I personally DO consider animal candids as real candids. This is a nice example of one. |

Beautiful shot. Exposure is a bit overdone. I know that this was a captured moment and not staged, but (for me) it still doesn't fit the category as well as some others. 7 ~indigo997 |

nice photo, but perhaps you could have used the rule of the thirds here to help make the bird more obvious? |

I really really like this. I love the fact that the bottom is where the action is and then it goes into blue nothingness at the top. I like how the light is only on the bird itself, and the rest is in shadow. Well done. |

I like this photo. I think there is too much sky up top and the shadow on the bottom right seems a bit off due to the sun on the left bird area. Still....a good photo. |
