Oh man, This is just AWESOME!!! You got robbed!! fantastic shot, no pun intended!!! This really should have been a 6+ no doubt!!! It seems so weird that the same people that voted this down are enjoying the freedoms earned for them by guys just like this...what do ya do? Just my opinian...and yeah, it'll probably piss a few people off...oh well.

Fantastic shot. I absolutely love the selective desaturation on this one. |

Positives:
Just about everything in this image is done great. The choice for color desaturation is particularly ominous and therefore appropriate.
Technicals:
Someone else is going to have to tell you what the technical flaws are. I don't see any. Some might suggest the shooter's hand is a little overexposed but that probably isn't even true, its just bright. The hand still retains detail.
The Challenge:
Who could argue that this not only meets the challenge but meets it in a particularly meaningful way.
You scored almost EXACTLY at the challenge average. That blows me away. This picture is no more average than a conservative Republican's ideals. :)
This is just pure guessing, but maybe anti-military feeling played a role in voter reaction to this image. Maybe they think noise reduction is overdone.
When this picture graces the cover of a magazine somewhere I'm gonna start a discussion about it beginning with... "I told you so!"
This one is a 10 all the way.
Suggestions:
Apply a little burn to the shooter's hands. |

heh, yeah, I took that shot during a rifle match. The "model" is actually a competitor...and was actually shooting at the time, thus no rules were broken. ;) |

DUDE and you gave me a lecture...
"I'd give you a 10 if the model's finger wasn't on the trigger...
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.
Rule 2: Never point your firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.
Rule 3: Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire
Rule 4. Keep your firearm on safe until you intend to fire. "
:-P
Nice shot btw.

lovely sentiment
This is what I see everytime I see someone shoot a gun - same basic angle, same basic lighting - it's a selective desat snapshot. The only thing slightly emotive is the title - show me the same thing from an interesting/different view and I'll score it above a 4 (standard snapshot score on my scale) |

Interesting image, in combination with the title. |
