 Attempting to really apply myself, i thought a lot about this challenge before creating an image, then i came up with this idea. I hope it pays off.

The lighting is a single AB800 strobe from above with a 20 degree honeycomb.
Cam on tripod with timed exposures. Pretty tricky.

Curves, D&B, Selective Desat.

Why on earth did this get dumped in the 5.9's? The moment I laid eyes on this during the voting, I just knew it would ribbon. And then....? I thought this was exactly what the voters liked. Kind of like this image:


Apparantly not... Oh well. :) Personally I think it's a wonderful shot.

Great composition and lighting. The plant looks a bit too green and out of place. I like your vignetting around the edges.

I think that a tighter crop from the top and the right would have made this a better shot

Really nice shot. Love the setup and idea. The lighting is especially great, and good use of the green wjith greyscale. Nicely composed also. Nice job.
