I cropped the image down
Changed the background to B&W after highlighting the flower
Worked on enhancing the colors of the flower
Changed the hue and color of the background to best show off the flower

Greetings from the Critique Club.

Composition: The central aspect but controlling of the viewers attention is well done. The eye branches out from the center well.

Technical: This is the area that has let you down. Selective Desaturation was not meant to intend for colour to be over the entire or majority of the image. I feel if the flower surrounds was left in BW then your score would have benefited.

Overall: Try re-editing for a more flattering image.

Columbine is lovely, but would have been the focal point even without the desat (which appears to still have a purple tint to it).

Nice shot of a columbine but the back ground has a color cast to it.

Sorry, but I just don't care for this shot. I know that's not terribly constructive, but it's my reaction.

There seems to be some sort of purplish cast over the whole shot. It is competing with your petals, and kills the shot.
