 Auto Contrast Auto Levels Cropped desaturated everything but the yellows and the brown in the eyes, exposure and gamma highlights and shadows, cloned out a stray hair and some cake crumbs, reduced noise sharpened resized saved for web,

This certainly meets the challenge, but I can't see that the desaturation enhances the shot -- IMNSHO, it would be better all in b&w.
