I don't get the placement here, and I don't get the negative comments. Maybe because I know this kind of dog and its propensity to roll around google-eyed in the grass. Nothing about it disturbs me. It's a great use of selective desat, wonderfully composed, good B&W to support the desat, with impact and effect. It's probably just a little too out of the box for DPC voters. Fav'd.

Fantastic shot, 10 - there's something very surreal about the desaturated grass, almost metalic, and the crazy look on the dog's face makes the photo.

Strange looking. Almost morbid?

First thought: The dog looks dead.
Second thought: That's probably NOT what was intended, but it still looks dead.
Third thought: He's got a really pretty brown coat, but he still looks dead.

Sorry, the dog just looks dead. And with a wierd photoshopped eye, too.

The title suggests playfulness, but the selective desat gives the photo a more creepy feel. The word 'carcass' comes to mind, because of all those dark greys and blacks. Not sure you captured exactly what you were looking for here.
