An apple? What a clever approach - to go in so close to one small part of a familiar object that we see the shapes and texture in a new way. I like this very much.

I guess it's a stalk of an apple. :-) Great composition, maybe the shadow could have been got out - with lighting or PhotoShop.

Technical: fits the challenge very well! Exposure composition focus lighting all very good.

Personal: Now that's what I call a macro!!

Kinda gross looking. I think it's a stem of some sort. Interesting, but not something I'd want to look at for very long.
