 a shot of my wife's co-worker's little girl. Lit only with natural light outdoors. Thanks to my teammate Jeff for all his help in teaching me how to use selective color layers to their full advantage. This will really helpme improve my portraits, which was a goal of mine for this year.

Taken in raw, converted in CS3 with minimal adjustment. Then a lot of layers: levels, curves, hue/sat, resize, then a couple more selective color layers to lighten and enhance, another hue/sat, flatten and sharpen. save for web.

Hooray! :) And thanks for the mention. I feel the same way about my entries - I've already learned so much from the team. I'm also glad to know who she is - I think I missed that in the team discussion.

Edited: Forgot to mention what a great job you did on her eyes. They just reach out and grab me!

Beautiful child portrait, just the right mix of clarity and softness, nicely lit, perhaps a bit bright at top, but that doesn't detract too much from the overall quality. A high score from me.
