I've seen lots of chess piece pictures, but THIS is neat. The subtle lighting and the green glow adds a very interesting, almost menacing atmosphere. I love it! The tones are wonderful, and the grain is also kind of neat, though it might be cool to see it without the grain to... Was it added? EXCELLENT shot! :) |

Jackal, there are some real strengths in this photo - I remember thinking the luminosity of those chess pieces had a lot of potential when I voted on it. The DOF is great, as are the lines. What I think would be very cool would be to shoot this on a light table (just some lights under a piece of glass supported by a pair of sawhorses would work fine) so that the light is absorbed up through these beautiful pieces. Of course, that might not work with the chess board - don't know what it is made of. |
