I had to fly out to Vegas for an emergency with my Great Aunt. She had a stroke years back and has just gotten worse. My family called me on Wednesday last week and told me I should come out and say goodbye as they don't think it will be too much longer. So I bought a ticket last Wednesday and flew out Friday after the shoot with the kids for my Selective DeSaturation pic. I was really close to her, before moving up to Ohio. It was a very emotional time and I was sad it had to be a short visit.
This was a shot on my way flying home. Not sure where it is. I think it was about 2 hours east of Las Vegas. Maybe the Rocky Mountains? Anyway, it was a long flight and a lot of time to think about my Aunt. Being so high up, you can't help but admire the beauty below. I thought a lot about my Aunt, and then just started shooting, trying to get my mind off of things. I thought this one turned out the best. When I got home, I looked up Mountains, Sky, and Clouds in the Profiles. And found the name "AnotherDayInTheClouds". I thought it worked pretty well. I hope everyone likes the shot. To me I think this means more than just a photography shot, but in some sort of way, a meaning to life.
Adjustments:
Shot in Raw, Took 3 shots Rapid with -2, 0, +2 exposure. Used the -2 shot.
Sharpened, Saturation +2, Brightness -.50
Converted to Jpg.
Rotate 3 degrees CCW.
Crop, USM
Auto Color
Add Border
Resized, Sharpened, and Saved for Web
