 I like it, but since it's yet another flower shot not expecting much here...

OK, so it seems flower shots are a capital mistake around here :) Dug around a bit and saw there was a Flower challenge a while back, precisely because there were too many flower shots scattered among the other challenges.

Anyways, this is my first flower shot ever, I like it a lot, glad it didn't end up under 5. Thanks to those who scored it high (wow, even a 10!).

even though the BG is blurred - it still seems a little noisy to me (esp. the purples), ultimately detracting from the subject

Nice colours and the shapes in the background work really well. However, I think the image would work better if only half of the in focus bloom was in the frame.
