This is an old granary - used this to try out tone mapping for the first time. Steps:

tone map technique
slight rotate/crop
selective color layer, to alter the yellows and greens slightly
hue/sat layer - 72% desat
brightness/contrast layer - slight tweaks
Alien Skin color film - cross process Provia, with slightly increased grain in midtones and shadows

I left out sharpening as I didn't think it fit for the "look"

original shot:

Just playing around to see what the possibilities are.

Makes you want to see what the rest of the world looks like in this universe. I really like the way you heighten the contrast between the living and the dead old walls.

Gotta say I really like what you've done with the place! From a picture of a granary to a mystical almost frightening world of greenery a bit too real for comfort.

What a ridiculous use of tonemapping. You've made half the picture look blown out and overexposed. You've utterly abused this technique in order to make a picture of a concrete garbage bin into a frightening fantasyland where winter and summer battle for control of a harsh world. Ice blinds me and bugs bite me at the same time. The planet threatens to crack open.

I have seen hundreds of reverent but utterly pointless tonemappings, only to discover you wielding this dangerous power for an actual purpose. You have dared to betray mundane reality and foist your own interpretation on it. Be warned, you have ventured into the realm of the artist. It is a realm where emotions run high and discontent is always right around the corner.

Are you sure you don't want to take studio shots of jewelry and puppies?

Very cool find! The tone mapping and processing really bring out the textures and greens! Nice Job!
