And here I just thought it was kinda cool with the bright yellow umbrella and the blown white tableclothes. And the guy in the doorway. Turns out (if you want the rest of the story) he wanted me to take his picture. I did. I'll print it and this one and take them to him at some point.

I like how the reflected umbrella bisects the two "real" umbrellas. lovely gold and tan tones, and then the man in the doorway is like a surprise. wondering what he is about to do or say adds a mystery to the shot. I can't decide how I feel about the tilt. It seems both distracting and energy-adding at the same time.

pineapple and pekesty already said it best but the wide open expansiveness and stillness of the tables combined with the activity of the single person makes this really dynamic. I like it a lot.

Weird...prior to this post I had no idea who Edward Hopper was. But between this post and your photo, Hopper's "Nighthawks" painting was the very first thing that came to my mind. Thanks to Deb, Andrew and Google I'm now a little bit more educated.

It's like one of those Edward Hopper acrylic paintings. Super real, with a weight to the items in the picture given by the shadows. And some frozen story about to continue... Nice one.
