 Increased contrast and saturation post editing to darken background a little while still keeping the background flowers in view, I thought that made it look more real than taking them completely out. Taken on a very windy day in western Kansas...not the best day to shoot but that was the only chance I had! :-)

Reading the title, I realise the symbolism and applaud the point you're making. However, I'd have like the flowers to be sharper

Like the shot, columbines are something I like to shoot myself .. seems just a bit soft but, very nice colors
