I used a macro attachment for my 50mm lense for this and i wasn't able to get the center part quite as in focus as the background so to fix it i did alot of selective sharpening and usm. I am really excited about how this came out but I have no idea how it will do, it will probably get some dnmc but its ok. i like the photo

Find another one of these for the "Burst of Color" challenge and you could end up on the front page when all is said and done. ;)

The central part of that flower jumps out so much it almost seems unreal. The radial action of the background black/white/blue spurs (not sure what else to call them) creates a sense of motion that is quite mesmerizing.

Wonderful macro! Love the perspective from the top - the blue lines radiating outward add so much interest. I think that the tight crop also works very well.

Excellent macro shot. The lighting is perfect for this subject, and the colors are perfectly saturated. Nice work. The DOF is a bit shallow, but not enough to make a huge difference.
