All my scientific ideas fell short, so I had to turn my eye to religion... I really did want to enter a mad-scientist style shot, but for various reasons did this instead. Loving my new macro lens.
It turned out to be far harder to capture the reflection of a cross in the highlights then I thought it would be. Part of the problem was that with the macro I was getting the outline of the flash (and even the umbrella spokes) distinct in the umbrella catch-light. Eventually I chose to shoot through an umbrella.
PP: the eye steps from Brads model tutorial, burn the cross and pupil, contrast mask, curves, brightness/contrast, saturation, blur the edge of the iris (although it still looks a bit like she is wearing a contact lens), resize, light sharpen, and save for web.
I don't love this, but hope it will do okay. The team needs more than I'm gettign from Elements. My concern is with the size of the catch-light and the blur to the left of the eye. Lets see how it goes. |

sorry, but as a photographer your job is to convince me.
photographically, this is a nice picture. However, I am not convinced that this is religious. |

Interesting textures and colors in the iris; like the subtle appearance of the shadow of the cross. Title is highly cliche and the shot overall is a little blah. Point of focus is also off, drawing the viewer away from your intended subject. |
