 Converted from RAW. some selective colour/sat + layer masking in CS3, a little burning, and a touch of sharpen.

I didnt quite get the shot I visualized, but the handlens was scorching my geologists eye, so we couldnt shoot all that much :-P

the rock is just chalcopyrite (copper), not gold, in case anyone was wondering...

Clever use of the magnifying lens; would probably look less staged if she were holding the rock closer to her eyes.

Nice idea! A touch distracting that the model's eye comes out upside down, but the concept conveys the challenge subject perfectly.
