pretty rose -but the lighting seems a little flat

Beautiful constrast of all colours and shapes. The round and red perfection of the rose, the green geomotry of the leaves, the stout brown of the stem and the blue background of the sky.

The focus seems soft, with not much detail recorded in the petals which is rather a shame.

Reds are tough aren't they. I'm not sure the sky as a background works real well. Most often yellowish/greens/plants/foliage, in an out of focus background compliment a flower like this better.

I like the flower and the background but I don't think I like the leaves at the bottom. Maybe if they a brighter green or or a bit sharper it would be better.

A bit overexposed on the rose, which could be helped by bracketing exposures and compositing the image.

That hot spot on the right detracts from this image. Otherwise, quite well done.
