I was delighted when I went out to get the newspaper this morning. My stargazer lily had two gorgeous blooms on it. I decided to continue some experimentation I have been doing with my Kenko extension tubes. This photo was made with my 50mm f/1.4 lens and a 12mm extension tube. The extension tubes allow me to do excellent macro work without using an actual macro lens. While this photo isn't 1:1, adding additional extension tubes would probably allow me to get very close to that. The extension tube set includes a 12, 20, and 36mm tube, and they can be stacked.
My experiments with extension tubes have been limited, but I have learned a lot about them during the process.

interesting perspective - not sure I like the super shallow DOF on this one |

There isn't a lot of focus in this picture which takes away. |

An absolute tour de force of color, detail and lines, all amidst wonderful simplicity. The background blend of pink into green is beautiful. This is a shot that I expect from only a few DPCers. I'll be anxious to see who pulled this off after the challenge. Beautiful and straight into the faves. |

I love how the flower itself is just a blurred hint of color. |
