| Thanks to everyone for your comments. I was having a hard time with this theme until my wife and I went to an antique flea market. I was looking for something tacky and this was the perfect place for it! I saw several things that caught my eye but when I saw the Santa dish inspiration struck! Its actually a candy dish but I thought it would make an excellent ashtray. I don't smoke or drink so I had to buy a pack of cigarettes and use apple juice for the glass. I took the picture outside on the deck because frankly the cigarettes can really smell! This was a fun challenge. Thanks again for your critiques. |

| Great concept, I love it! I just think that the cigarette should be shorter, and close to the filter (still lit), without the brand name showing. And also the boos should be less full. |

| Nice lighting on the ashtray and the colored liquid in the glass. This is an interesting concept, and well photogrpahed. |

Technical: fits the challenge perfectly! Exposure composition focus lighting all excellent.

| Compared to most of the others I have seen so far, I'm giving this a 9. Would be a ten, but Santa's eyes lead me out of the photo, rather than in it. |

| Good idea and execution but you don't need the cigarette sticking up. It's plenty tacky enough having Santa's beard serving as an ashtray -- yuck! For me if you'd left that one cigarette out the image would have been more powerful and believable, because obviously the "Santa" isn't really smoking, but some human being was, and used the ornament in a tacky way. Hope I'm making sense... |
