Heggburta waiting for a ride to work. I pointed out to her that it was Saturday and we had the day off.

Would have looked better with the car door open but she gets in!!

Typical Queen's Birthday here in NZ....it's raining!!! Gloomy, low-light day. Playing in ps ......lots of filters, cropped, history brush with one of the wet towel textures and painted image back onto the canvas.

Humorous story and picture. Being a painter i find I don't mind the processing. I think it adds to the whimsical quality of the work.

I'm not a big applied textures fan, myself (probably because I never did anything like that when using film, so for me it often seems too much like digital "playing"); here, the effect is pleasant enough, so maybe I need to look at how I look at these images (maybe it's because I don't feel you've overdone it, which is how I often see these kinds of images).

So cool to meet Heggburta. We have a Lola (male house rabbit). Interesting things you learn on DPC side challenges!!!

Very nice shot. And I especially like the texture you applied.

So, why did the chicken cross the road? To catch a ride to town! Love the story.
I like the texture. It's not so heavy that it disturbs the basic elements of the picture.

Thank you!! I really appreciate any and all criticism cos that's how I learn what works/doesn't work for others. It's what makes DPC such an amazing place .....to be able to see your work through others eyes.

SO cute. It's amazing how much domesticated animals learn about the patterns of our lives.

I love your image and story. The tonal values add to the over all feeling of your image. Plus, I like chickens!
