The waterfall at the Alluvial Fan in Rocky Mountain National Park. Tent on river bank with lantern flashlight inside. 52 minutes after sunset, but before complete darkness. (The full moon did not help me on this night due to heavy overcast over the front range, although clear sky to the west.) Ambient light source primarily from "alpenglow" in the last light of dusk. Shutter curtains opened on Bulb... locked open with remote shutter release cable. Waterfall and "path" of water energy "painted' with halogen beam flashlight. 144 seconds of exposure.
RAW image capture. In Aperture, global adjustment to exposure +0.5, shadows +43.2, brightness +0.14, saturation +0.23, color temp normalized to 5147 K. Then, opened as tiff in PhotoShop Elements. Additional boost to shadows, increased contrast and increased saturation. Noise Ninja to remove electronic noise. A few hot pixels were cloned out. Globally, red color reduced. Cropped and resized. |

Would have liked this more if the tent were not in the picture |

This is really neat. It would have looked better if you had just light up the water and had some light glowing out of the tent sperately though. |

Are you really camped that close to the stream? |

really cool image - the lighting on the larger of the falls is nice and soft and I like how the light seems to run to the tent |

Nice rocks, I think it would look better as a photo with out the tent int he shot, but you may have gotten a few DNMC's if you did. Great job and should go well. |
