I tied my Stylus to a railing by the hand cord and set the self timer. Inside the camera I converted to sepia and desaturated a bit. Going for an old fashioned look.

Wow, you tied the camera to the railing? I have a hard enough time lining my shots up straight when I'm looking through the viewfinder! I like the conversion to sepia here, and the expression is powerful. Nicely done!

Thanks, but I had gimp and it went kookoo on me. My computer wont let me download it again. I'll just have to get to know my camera REALLY REALLY well I guess.. xD

If you have a PC, try the Gimp. It's a free Photoshop clone. It doesn't have some of the really fancy tools, but it'll definitely get you started, and did I mention it's free?

You can find it here: //gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

PM if you have trouble downloading or using it.

Nicely done. The pose is great, composition interesting (has an urban feel to it though it is obviously suburban; a neat contrast). I might have cropped or framed differently, leaving the sky out of the frame. Also might be interesting with some kind texture to give it a grittier feel (though I understand you're not interested in too much post work).
