Around the corner from where Bev lives is Elaine's house. She has a corner property and a long, somewhat narrow garden running along the street side of the property to her garage. Her specialty is Irises. She loves them and has a dozen and half varieties as well as roses, clematis, peonies, poppies, zinnias, marigolds, bleeding hearts and others. But in May of each year, her irises are in full bloom and are the higlight of the garden.
Last Monday, Bev drove me to the garden and went home to relax and stay out of the heat. It was draining. I shot for about two hours and 350 frames, not counting deletes. I also shot with all 4 of my lenses, one after the other. Mainly with the 50MM macro but I switched to the 70-300 on macro to get some more interesting DOF. This was one of them.
Post: Convert from raw in PSElements 3.0 with a +0.33 exposure compensation. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Cloned the tip of an expired bloom off the bottom left of center. Sharpen.Resize. Sharpen. |
