 Hmmm....what were you thinking. Well the pom mum I tried was just a blah color and even worse with the decorative lights around it. I tried a calla but blah as well...sorry callas just not your area. But the Red Hot Poker just seem to do the trick as it had enough color variation to stand up to the different colors of the lights in the background. So....now...the title....sorry...just the first thing that popped into my head.

Post: Convert from raw in PSElements 3.0 with a +0.33 exposure compensation. Layer of curves adjustment. Layer of hue/Saturation. Sharpen. Crop. Resize. Sharpen.

I'm just waiting to hear about how busy the background is. Think Jackson Pollock with a flower...maybe? LOL! Have fun.

The rays of light are very cool, but I don't understand what the "thingy-on-a-stick" in the middle is, or what it's doing there.

This is a very cool image. I really like the approach you've taken here. How you've used the light trails as a background. And the lighting and focus is great on the plant. And you've put it together into a strong composition. Nice job!
