I had wanted to get a picture of a tadpole with legs, or frog with a tail, but nothing came out nearly as well as the pictures I got of this Green Heron, who showed up to hunt his own frogs. He was way more successful than I was! This was at midday which is not my favorite light by a longshot, but this guy is apparently a rare sight according to the locals, and I took the opportunity I had. Focus looks a little off to me on his head but I think it's due to motion and since this is Basic I can't try to fix it!
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, HDR (automatically adjusts saturation and contrast across the image, as far as I can tell), adjusted saturation, USM, added border, resized, sharpened, increased contrast and decreased gamma slightly |

What a great capture! I only wish there was more focus on the beak/face of the bird and frog instead of the body. |

nice shot, good colors, only unfortunate drawback i would say is that post behind the bird looks like it's attached to him. |

Love these Green Herons and this is a great catch of it grabbing lunch. I'd say this is transition from hunger to satisfied. ;-) |
