Challenge: New Year's Resolution II (Classic Editing)
Camera: Nikon Coolpix 995
Location: my house

Aperture: 3.1

This is a photograph of a figurine from one of those decorative snow villiages. I've been wanting to photograph it since it went up, and I figured this was a good chance. Basically all the editing I did was the use of Neat Image. The color and everything else turned out pretty well. I am a little afraid that the Salvation Army Santa, which is my main subject, is a little out of focus. It's difficult to tell since he doesn't have much texture to begin with and Neat Image took out what little there may have been. All in all I am pleased with the color and the composition.

I guess my picture was a bit of a stretch really. I am glad at least a few people saw what I was trying to say. I probably could have helped myself by pointing out the subject: the Salvation Army Santa, who is a volunteer, hence my resolution. Oh well, I have high hopes for my picture in the POV challenge. I really let those creative juices flow for that one.

Title didn't seem to match the scene. I also thought more depth of field rather than less would have helped.

Interesting interpretation. The soft foreground subjects do distract from the main point though putting the eye focus main point on the house.

I don't quite see the challenge in the the picture, maybe I'm just an Idiot.

It's time to put away the Christmas decorations. Composition seems a little busy and not enough DOF.

The title is nice, but without it this seems off topic.

Good depth of field. Great focus on the Santa Claus and the little girl. Gives a great sense of the Christmas spirit in a town or village.

I don't like the background (it seems a window)... you could put something on it...
