 first time I have tried a shot like this, and I wanted to ever since I read about it in a magazine.

Picture was resized to 600 by 400, and then rotated by 90°. No cropping or other rotation was done. Simple curves manipulation and saturation increase of about 15 were applied. I also altered the colour balance to be a little bit more blue in order to bring out the lorry cab. That was it.

The lens used was a sigma 28-70 EX F 2.8 at 51 millimetres.

If the original is requested then I might be more than 48 hours as I am going on holiday soon.

Howdy from the Critiques Club:

First your was shot is somewhat iffy on meeting the challenge, but what the heck. If you'd show movement in the bus behind or another vehicle, no question to action. This may be one reason for lower marks by some.

The sign with the frost is nice. The photo maybe cropped a bit to tight to show good action of modifier (vehicle) behind the sign. Possibly having the sign somewhat more off centered would have had a bit more interest and lead the eye to the movement behind the sign.

Your dof and sharpness are good. I love your "Give Way" much better than our "Yield".

I hope this helps a bit. Keep shooting.

great timing. like the frost on the sign. fell without the truck would be better

Difficult to tell if there is action or the shot is blurry. Maybe if the photo wasn't cropped so tight it would be easier to tell.
