To see the flash in the window is a little distracting - but this is still a beautiful shot. So clear! And the color against the "blah" of the outside is lovely. I really like this. |

Why did you enter this into this theme? |

Nice title! I love the contrast between the white and the coloring of the flower. |

The flower contrasts nicely against the background. However I think it could have been much better without the glass behind it distorting the background. The glass picks up the flash and it also has condensation on it. But I think it's a nice image. |

A good idea, but the flash reflection in the window reminds me there is a sheet of glass between the flower and the snow. Otherwise, good composition. (the rules on spot editing really are a burden on this shot.) |

This is an indoor, right? |

It's truely amazing how the background looks like black&white. Awesome photo! |

Great concept! I love the color against the backdrop of greytones, but the colors could have been more saturated. A bit dark in the leaves below. Also, the glare above the upper right petal is distracting, as well as, the leaves in the upper right. I think many of your problems could have been avoided with softer light and better in-camera cropping. One more thing is the flower is too centered. Hope this was helpful and you didn't find it too harsh of a critique. |

Wow, beautiful.
So you are going to be more audacious this year?

The flower is awesome! The way it looks against the background is even better. My only pick on your background is the hot spots. I have 2 of these plants in this same color. Nice work. :-) |

The flower is nice, but the background makes this a great shot! |

Nice shot. However, the flash reflection behind the flower is a little bit disturbring and the leaves are to dark. |

Nice detail. Especially striking against the wintry backdrop. |

It would've been cooler if this was actually outdoors. Nice shot none the less. |

I really like the idea of this and it is an incredible shot. A few things I can suggest:
The flash in the window is a bit distracting, but this is difficult to avoid when taking against a window.
I'm not quite sure why you have included the leaves in the upper right corner. I fell that these take away from the main image of the flower.
The flower could be a tiny bit brighter, but then that would likely overexpose the snow in the background.
I think you did a great job with a very challenging shot, and it fit the challenge perfect. |
